Our most recent Summer Placement, Stu Wells, recently completed his degree after studying Graphic Design at the University of Cumbria. He spent the week getting stuck in with the Design and Digital teams here at Just R.
The University of Cumbria Design Exhibition
The talent of Stu Wells caught the eye of Just R’s Rosie during a recent visit to the University of Cumbria’s degree show; where final year undergraduate students showcased their work, covering fine art, graphic design, illustration and more. Rosie reached out to Stu after the exhibition to offer the opportunity of work experience in our Carlisle studio, providing Stu with the chance to gain a valuable insight into what it’s like to work within a high performing, creative environment.
Creating Jobs for Graduates in Carlisle
Given the increasing number of recent graduates amongst the team, we are all too familiar with how difficult it is to gain this type of experience, especially with the limited supply of graduate opportunities in Carlisle and the surrounding areas within Cumbria. Due to this, we are keen to support wherever we can. We also understand the value a regular injection of fresh creative talent brings to our team, making it a win-win scenario every time!
Stu’s time in the office was a delight and the work he produced was fantastic! He had the chance to produce assets which will be used within live campaigns and spent time with experienced members of the team.
