At Just R we are continuing to build a connection with local universities to attract some of the best students from across various courses to build experience and showcase what a Carlisle-based business can offer!
Ryan is soon to graduate from the University of Cumbria where he is currently studying Film. He joined us on our new Sumer Placement scheme, working alongside our Videography team as well as our Copywriting team!
The work has been really engaging, everyone’s been very welcoming and I'm coming away inspired... Just R feels like the most modern thing in Carlisle. They’re tech-literate, they’re passionate and they’ve got a real vision for the work they’re doing with the NHS.
The Experience…
Over the past week, I’ve been on a work experience placement with Just R. When I applied, I said I was interested in writing and videography, so I’ve spent my time editing footage into adverts and writing up a case study on some work that Just R did for one of their clients.
I’m proud to say that the ads I produced have been sent out to the client and are going to be put out on digital attraction campaigns across Facebook and Instagram.
More than anything, what I wanted from my placement here at Just R was to see creative professionals at work and try to gain an understanding into their processes. I’d say I’ve achieved that over my week here. Through reading case-studies and watching them work, I’m definitely coming away with an understanding of who Just R are and what their goals are. Not to mention, I’m also coming away with work that I can boost my portfolio with.
What a week!

I’d recommend the Just R summer placement to any students that might be interested. If you’re driven and you want to grow, there’s plenty of opportunity to do that at Just R. Give yourself a chance to get some feedback on the skills you’ve picked up so far, and help find what you’re going to do next.
It’s been amazing to have you part of the team and in the office! You are so passionate and skilled as well as articulate… your input in team meetings have proven insightful!
