How to generate unique, engaging social media and digital content


This week the Just R team are on location shoots at The Lancaster Royal Infirmary, Harrogate and District Hospital and The Bradford Royal Infirmary. Photography and video shoots are key for digital content creation not only for the photos and videos but there is no better way for the Just R team to really get to know the Trusts that we work with, enabling us to fully understand what it means to be part of the nursing teams and why new recruits should want to join!

In preparation for any video, photography or social media campaigns we have a simple list of questions that we ask our Trusts to think about, these questions are useful to think about for any recruitment advertising and include:

What are your USP’s? 

This is an interesting question that Trusts sometimes find difficult to answer but having met so many nursing teams at Trust across the country it is clear to us that every single Trust is absolutely unique! It could be that your preceptorship program is outstanding, you may offer departmental rotations or preferable shift working patterns, there are many ways that you can differentiate your Trust from others in your area, a quick brainstorm amongst the nursing team can usually identify a long list!

Who are your stars?

Any video content needs stars to front in order to deliver your messages as authentically as possible, this does not mean your teams need to have live TV presenter skills they just need to have relevant stories and passion that can be translated onto screen.

What are you great at?

This could be that you have recognised specialisms, internally you may be well aware but don’t assume that those outside your organisation know about it. Think about what they are and the best way to showcase them.

What are you famous for?

Are you award winning? Do you have technology or or facilities that are world class? Is your research and development or training and development exceptional? If you don’t shout about it, no one else will so make sure you do.

What is your elevator pitch?

This is a great one to task a group of team members to think about. If you had 30 seconds in a lift with the ideal candidate to join your team what would you tell them? Why should they join you? Using this information is a great way to pull together content for a recruitment campaign.
