Creating an Onboarding Video to Aid NHS Retention

North London Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (NLMHP) is the new identity for the collaboration between two London based Mental Health Trusts: Barnet Enfield and Haringey and Camden and Islington.

As with any new identity, it is critical to ensure clear concise messaging to key stakeholders, especially staff. North London Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust approached Just R for support.

The team at NLMHP had a vision for an onboarding video which would provide new starters at the partnership with an introduction to the new organisation, detailing the vision, values and key information to enable new starters to get off to a positive start and it was to be delivered by their Chief Executive Jinger Kandola.

Involving senior executives within the onboarding process is an excellent way to build a positive experience for new recruits, especially for those times where it isn’t possible for them to attend themselves. Utilising video is an efficient, effective method.

Just R have been involved in many similar projects for Trusts across the UK and through this experience can offer a wide range of support dependent on the needs of the organisation. From simply turning up to shoot and edit to full planning, directing and production. Our team are here to fill gaps within your Trust teams and maximise capacity.

A positive onboarding experience is reported to increase employee retention by up to 82% and whilst an onboarding video can’t provide everything a new hire needs, it can set the tone and ensure all new starters receive clear, consistent messages.
