Just R continue a longstanding and successful partnership with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, working with the team to help attract values aligned Nurses & HCAs to attend their two-day recruitment event. Read on to find out how we supported the team at Stockport to achieve amazing results.

The Challenge

Having worked alongside the team at Stockport for over 3 years, we’ve helped the Trust promote and attract values aligned candidates to 6 recruitment events, both in-person and online. Previously working with the Trust on an ad-hoc basis to recruit to urgent positions, we were thrilled to recently kick-start a 12 month, strategic project with the Trust. As part of our 12 month plan we aim to generate awareness and attract candidates to in-person events every 12 weeks. The main focus of the events are to encourage those who are new to care to enter the organisation, including Student Nurses and unqualified candidates to entry-level roles, with vacancies available across a range of areas including medicine, surgery, integrated care and community roles.

Our challenge was to generate awareness and convert values-aligned candidates to attend the event in just under 3 weeks and also continue to engage with potential candidates through #TeamStockport’s dedicated careers social media page.

The Solution

Our solution was to create and execute a digital attraction campaign, with eye-catching visuals and engaging content to help capture the attention of like-minded individuals. Just R’s creative team built upon existing branding from previous campaigns with Stockport and refreshed the creative assets with brand new photography and video content, with a focus to tell the inspiring stories of the real people who currently work at the Trust.

The digital campaign ran across multiple social media channels for just 3 weeks before the first event! Using social media as an attraction tool means we are attracting passive candidates, those who are not actively searching. Passive candidates aren’t motivated by a sense of urgency, so they tend to be more valuable as they are likely to apply for job opportunities which align with their own values (source).

At Just R, we ensure the whole candidate journey is easy to navigate and as simple as possible. Candidates are encouraged to register their interest via a simple form, which then filters them into our very own Recruitment Pipeline Management System (RPM). The Just R RPM system creates bespoke talent pools for Trusts, which can be accessed for a wide range of roles. Our dedicated candidate consultant team engage with candidates within 48 hours of their initial enquiry, where we ask candidates values-based questions, inviting those who are suitable to attend the recruitment event. This pre-screening process ensures that only the best candidates attend, saving the Trust precious time in their recruitment process.

We also supported the team at Stockport for the event days, providing flyers to be distributed to successful candidates. This process helps keep the candidates warm and let them know they will be contacted by the recruitment team soon to discuss the next steps.


In total, Just R’s values based attraction campaign gathered 250 enquiries of interest for the recruitment event. 115 candidates attended the event, 54 of those from Just R’s talent pipeline. The event proved successful, with 12 Registered Nurses and 82 HCA’s receiving an offer over the two days! Not only that, our digital campaign reached 117,737 people within the first three weeks of launching. This number continues to grow as we continue our strategic values based attraction campaign with Stockport over the next 12 months.
