The Power of a Recruitment Website in a Hard to Recruit, Qualified MH Nurse & HCSW Campaign
Campaign Objective:
The collaboration between Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) and Just R commenced in September 2023, to develop a strategy to attract Qualified, UK based, Mental Health Nurses and experienced HCSWs to the Trust located in the picturesque South West of England
Campaign Focus:
The focus of the campaign was to reach, connect and engage with:
- Mental Health Nurses (Band 5/6/7)
- Learning Disability Nurses
- Experienced HCSW’s

Our collaboration with Just R has greatly transformed and supported our recruitment efforts. The website has captured all that our Trust has to offer, whilst connecting with our community and directing people to apply for roles at AWP.
4 months into the campaign the recruitment website was launched. The campaign has since attracted 217 qualified candidates including:
- Qualified Mental Health Nurses = 50
- Learning Disability Nurses = 9
- Student Mental Health Nurses = 38
- Junior Doctors = 10 … and more!
So far the Trust have appointed 25 candidates – with a further 7 Under Offer

A key driver of this project was the development of a recruitment website
The goal of the Recruitment website was to act as a window into the organisation, enabling them to connect with great people virtually to fill the vacancies in their teams.
View AWP recruitment websiteAdditionally, Just R's screening process for experienced HCSWs has streamlined our recruitment, efforts and enabled us to focus on recruiting top talent.
A secondary element of the project is aimed at experienced HCSWs, with a focus on quality over quantity. For this, Just R has developed a screening and candidate management process to reduce the time needed for the Avon team to generate applications from the best candidates. To date, we have received applications from 254 screened, experienced HCSWs!
